HanzZzel at Time Square

“I sometimes have this strange feeling in my life, the crazier things get, the more I feel on the right track!” Such a moment happened to HanZzzel when he read in X post announcing that he was among the lucky winners of the first Time Square Open Call. This was set to life by no other than the dopest Gallery on both coasts – Superchief Gallery.

The price was nothing less than being exhibited on of the biggest billboards on Time Square, NY. And that for a whole week every hour for a couple of seconds. The start of this one-of-a-kind live exhibition was celebrated during a “space” on X by Superchief Gallery with artists and frens coining in from all over the world. Some also showed up IRL in front of this huge billboard celebrating this new and innovative form of showing art.

“I am humbled for this amazing opportunity and experience. The whole process has been incredible with a lot of positive energy and a great sense of collaboration. Everyday artists released new entries for the open call and people were cheering for each other. I, myself, collected great artwork every day like a maniac, and made a lot of new connections. Superchief did a great job by setting the whole thing up and moderating the scene”, HanZzzel is reflecting.

With every mint a vote was given to a specific artwork, making the final count for the winners. Others were selected by curators and sponsors. HanZzzel’s work “Fear and Loathing in AI” was selected by ledger, the well-known hardware wallet designer, who have always shown their great support for the community and its ideas. The artwork is his homage to the journalist and writer Hunter S. Thompson as well as his own experiencer when diving into the world of AI. “As the founder of gonzo journalism HST always proclaimed own experience over all other influences that define your writing. As I entered the web 3 rabbit whole and the world of digital art I was overwhelmed by my experiences and reflections. Writing helped me structure my thoughts. I want to pay tribute to his approach for experiencing life as such and the things around us. “Buy the ticket. Take the ride.” Definitely my credo when moving through this crazy space!”
