On November 26, 2025, the Pannonians were invited as partners to the annual closing event of the Military History Association of Burgenland at the MARTIN Barracks in Eisenstadt.
A special honor — and an evening that impressively linked past, present, and future.
After the reception in the vestibule and the introduction of the association, the Pannonians presented a sculpture commemorating the annexation of Burgenland in 1921. The piece symbolizes those transitional moments in which history takes shape — moments that inspire us as artists and researchers because they reveal patterns that continue to echo into the future.
As part of the program, Stony was invited to speak and explained why engaging with historical trajectories is essential for the Pannonians:
Those who understand the past can make sense of the present and shape the future. Our work often begins precisely where it is not yet clear what something will ultimately become — art, tool, or catalyst.
A special highlight followed at 6:00 p.m.:
The launch of the new association format “K.u.K. – Kaserne und Kultur” (“Barracks and Culture”), featuring the lecture “Bombs on Eisenstadt – May 10, 1944” by Mag. Dr. Brigitte Krizsanits. A powerful and moving presentation that deeply resonated with the audience and brought back to life a period whose traces and consequences are still felt today.
We extend our sincere thanks to Chairman Alexander Kovács and the entire team of the Military History Association of Burgenland for the invitation, the warm hospitality, and the open exchange.
It was a pleasure to be part of this special evening — and we look forward to future collaborative projects in which history and the future will once again meet.
